Are you deep frying a turkey this year?

Happy Thanksgiving!

Did you know thanksgiving is a busy time of year for our firefighters? Deep frying a turkey put you at risk for a cooking fire. Keep in mind all the risk while doing so and consider these helpful tip this holiday season. 

- Only fry turkeys outdoors and keep kids and pets at least 3 feet away. 
-Don’t over fill cooking pot. Use water to determine how much oil you need.
-Make sure turkey is fully thawed before deep frying it.

-Check turkey regularly with thermometer.

-Always use cooking gloves to handle the pot lid.
